le 7 février--Honors French 3

Honors French 3 began with a warm-up of new made-up French words, created by teenagers.  It is called djeun's, and is a very interesting form of slang.  They took a test on the imperfect tense, and then read an article about the teen-speak.  Their homework for Wednesday is to re-read the article, because we will be doing something with it on that day.

ARGOT / Le verlan, comment parler céfran

Vous apprenez le français, mais connaissez vous le "céfran" ? En renversant les mots, une nouvelle langue naît : le verlan, dont quelques expressions sont très utiles à l'oral.

le 4 février--AP and Honors French 4

Both groups started off with a warm-up to prepare them for today's test.  They then had 15 minutes to study for the test and ask questions if necessary.  After they took the test, the AP student worked on exercises dealing with object pronouns, and the Honors French 4 students practiced for a vocabulary test which they will be taking on Tuesday, Feb. 8th. 

le 3 février--Honors French 3

Class began with the warm-up whose intention was to prepare them for instruction later on in the class.  They then did a textbook activity to prepare them for the vocabulary test they were going to take.  I gave them 12 minutes to study for their test, and then they took the test.  After this we reviewed negative expressions and how to use them when negating expressions such as déjà, toujours, souvent, and quelquefois.  We then also reviewed the imperfect tense because they are having a test on it for their next class on Monday, Feb. 7th.

le 2 février--AP and Honors French 4

Both groups worked on warm-ups and summarizers dealing with object pronouns.  They will have a test on the object pronouns on Friday.  Honors French 4 worked on vocabulary and will have a vocabulary test next week on Tuesday, 2/8.  AP student worked on possessive adjectives and also object pronouns.  The HF4 students continued work on the unit's vocabulary via textbook and workbook exercises.

February 1st and 2nd--French 2

The classes these 2 days began with a warm-up as usual.  Also as usual we went over old vocabulary and started learning new vocabulary from Unit 8:  un infmirmer to mettre dans le platre.  After this some students volunteered to present their SMOOSH books to the class.  Then they worked on another vocabulary worksheet and learned 2new irregular verbs:  partir--pars, pars, part, partons, partez, partent--to depart and sentir--to feel:  sens, sens, sent, sentons, sentez, and sentent.  They will have a big project due Feb. 17 or 18th, depending on whether they are white day or blue day students. I have chosen the groups.  The project is to create a skit about health.

le premier février--Honors French 3

This was remediation day.  Students had a warm-up and class instruction about the imperfect tense which they should have learned before SNOWCATION.  They also studied for and practiced their vocabulary from Unit 2.  Their real test will be on Thursday.  After the practice test, they worked in their textbooks on pages 64-65 and completed exercise C on page 65.
