Woe is me. Woe is me. I have graded the tests taken on 3/10, and the grades are sub-par. Many students did not study at all; many have "senioritis." The students have been given the option to take the grammar-vocabulary section over again, since that is the one that is weighted the heaviest. All tests need to be made up by Friday (March 18th) (and some have until Monday, if they did not get their test returned today in class). Anyway, they started with a warm-up dealing with today's vocabulary assignment. They were assigned new vocabulary for Wednesday, meaning they have to make sure they know "l'adepte through reprendre." They will be having a quick quiz on these vocab. words on Friday. Also we reviewed the present, passe compose, imperfect, near future tenses, and the subjunctive. This was to prepare for the introduction of our new text: the simple future. The simple future for regular verbs is very easy. Just take the infinitive of ER and IR verbs and add ai, as, a, ons, ez, ont, and for RE verbs, drop the E and add the same endings. The translation is: will or shall do something. After this we did another remediation exercise by reviewing French pronunciation for the letters A through G. Homework involves studying the vocabulary and the notes about the future tense.
