Today's class began with a warm-up classifying French names for foods as either fruits, legumes, or viandes (fruit, veggies, meats). We then went over vocabulary assigned for today, checked for cognates on our vocabulary list, and assigned vocab. for Wednesday.
They are to learn all the verbs beginning with "faire la cuisine" to "verser." After this we did a remediation drill on French pronunciation, specifically with letters A through D. We reviewed the verbs "prendre" and "faire" since they are used a lot with cooking and food. Then we talked about what a typical French breakfast (le petit déjeuner) looked like, and we taste tested some of the foods. Finally, the class ended watching a DVD clip showing how to prepare some famous French recipies. Anybody hungry yet? The picture represents one of the recipies we watched--the Opera cake made with chocolate and coffee. Bon appétit!
