The classes combined for their warm-up and the first 15 minutes of classtime instruction. The warm-up and the instruction had to do with spelling change verbs: today's class dealt with the conjugation of verbs which end in ELER and with the JETER verb family. Then both groups were assigned new vocabulary to learn for Thursday. HF4 need to learn words under the category "L'état civil," and the AP group "Les arts et le théatre." Then the AP group did some internet research on Jean de la Fontaine and his fables. Then they read 2 fables: La Cigale et la Fourmi and Le Renard et le Corbeau. In response to the fables, they had to choose 1, illustrate it, and write the moral in French. They also have to study Chapter 1, pages 1-18 on the present tense. They are to complete exercises a through f and these are due on 8/29. Honors French 4 had instruction and review on French adjectives. They then had to choose 6 adjectives from their new vocabulary list and create 6 sentences using the adjectives. Both groups have a spelling change verb meaning quiz on Thursday and a spelling change verb conjugation test on 8/29.
