This week we started practicing for our Persepolis summative assessment. The test will be on Monday, January 30th for the Blue Day classes and Tuesday, January 31st for the White Day class.
Here are the directions for Part I. We will continue to practice in class next week.
Part I: Analysis of Visuals (25 total points)
Directions:
Give a DETAILED analysis of 5 panels from Persepolis. Be descriptive. Over-simplified or general responses will not receive full credit. For each panel you must do the following:
Explain Author’s Purpose (Panel’s Overarching Theme) 1 point
Analyze the images, background, symbols, and key word/phrase of the panel (Images and Key Dictions) 2 pts
Explain the panel’s significance in relation to the plot of the text. (Specific Textual Connection) 1 point
Write with elevated diction and varied syntax. 1 point
