WEEK6: 9/19-9/23

This week we'll take everything we learned about Quadratic Funcitons and use it to Graph & Solve Quadratic Inequalities.  Our Learning Task for this Unit is Paula's Peaches, which involves the Quadratic application in an orchard of peach trees... trying to find the perfect amount of trees to plant in the orchard for maximum (vertex) peach production.

MON-Blue ... TUE-White
Math 2 ... Review graphing the Quadratic Funciton in Standard Form. Learn how to solve a Quadratic Inequality --Graphically, --Using a Table, &/or --Algebraically by *Testing a Point*
Math 2 Support ... Practice identifying where shading would be for given inequalities.  Practice testing a point to find where solutions (shading) will fall for given inequalities.

WED-Blue ... & THU-White

Math 2 ...  Writing Complex #s in Standard Form.  Adding, subtracting, multiplying & dividing Complex #s and re-writing final answers in Standard Form.
Math 2 Support ...  Review select example problems to prepare for your Math 2 Core Test on Unit 1 Chunk 2: Solving Quadratic Functions & Inequalities.  Using textbook.

WEEK5: 9/12-9/16

Math 2 Support ... Quiz on Factoring & using Quadratic Formula to solve for "x".  Review operating with Square Roots: finding Perfect Squares, & simplifying radicals. Preview Quadratic Inequalities.

Math 2 ...  Taking all algebraic and graphic methods from Quadratic EQUATIONS, using them for Quadratic INEQUALITIES.

WEEK4: 9/6-9/9

We've finished up GRAPHING Quadratic Functions... now we will move on to SOLVING Quadratic Functions. To solve means to find the values of "x" when "y" = 0.  These will be the values where the parabola will cross the x-axis (x-intercepts).

Math 2 ... Unit 1 Chunk 1 Test: Graphing Quadratic Functions (multiple choice AND free response).
Math 2 Support ... Review of factoring trinomials when a = 1. Learning to factor when a is NOT 1 to prepare for Solving Quadratic Functions in Core Math 2 class.

WED-Blue ... & THU-White
Math 2 ...  Quick review of Factoring Trinomials when "a" = 1.  Learning to factor Quadratic Functions when "a" DOES NOT = 1.
Math 2 Support ... Learning the Quadratic Formula and its use to find the solutions of "x" in a Quadratic Function. (Music video of the Quadratic Formula.)
