You will note a repeat of a couple of topics from last week due to a need for additional instruction on Graphing Quadratics. The Quadratics test has been pushed one day later.
Upcoming Assessments: Common Assessment on Monday, 08/29, ( new date from last week) Test on Graphing Quadratics is 09/07 ( blue day) and 09/08 ( white day)
Tutoring: Tuesday morning and afternoon and Friday afternoon. If you need another time, feel free to contact me for an alternate time.
Monday/ Tuesday
Today, you receive your quizzes back and you reflect on any errors. Also, you take a pre 9 week common assessment ( you do not study for this assessment) to identify current knowledge of Math 2 standards. We discuss the T/I sheet of graphing Quadratics, noting numbers 5 and 10 on the sheet( they are special Quadratics). The class takes instruction on rewriting Quadratics ( from STandard form to vertex form) and a preview of vertex form to standard form. Lastly, we take notes on the characteristics of Quadratics. The class summarizes with study cards on characteristics of Quadratics

Wednesday/ Thursday
Today, in class, we take a second look at characteristics of Quadratics, mainly a focus on domain and range, two challenging concepts for students. We look at the translation of a parabola, what causes a shift, right or left and review a shift up or down or a combination shift. We look at the other part of "a", other than direction of opening. Lastly, you complete a sorting activity or matching the graph and the equation of a Quadratic.

Friday/ Tuesday
We do a museum walk of parabolic graphs, noting the characteristics of each graph. Also, we review for the unit assessment with a review sheet and some stations of problems. Unit assessment is next class.
