3/30 - turn in your brainstorming graphic organizers for a grade & partner/peer edit - typed copy & revise the research & composition questions

3/31 - go to the media center to type final copy

4/1 - have volunteers read their essay & complete the last of the research & composition questions

For those of you who were testing last week - you need to catch up!  You owe me:  EOCT Lessons 6 & 7 and you need to read Chapters 31-32.

Monday & Tuesday 3/28 & 3/29- Read Ch. 34 & finish EOCT Lesson 8

Wednesday & Thursday 3/30 & 3/31 - EOCT Review - in class

Friday 4/1 - Chapter 1 EOCT review

You should read through Chapter 37 during this week.

A Time For Action!

This is the week that you get to show everything you've learned so far.  I hope you are using the testing strategies we've talked about:

1.  Get plenty of sleep the night before.

2.  Eat a nutritious breakfast.

3.  Come ready & focused.

This week, if & when I see you, we will be working on nonfiction.

Very disappointed!

Out of the 4 seniors who should've gone to Saturday tutoring on the 12th, only 1 went from 1 class.  I haven't asked the other class, but I'm scared of what the answer might be.

You have nobody to blame but yourselves!  You would not forget a soccer match or a party.  So you need to ask yourselves, what are my priorities?

We will finish reading the memoir "Beets" & complete the graphic organizer on the significance of the allusions found throughout the story.

Once completed & discussed, we will take the vocabulary & comprehension quiz on "Beets."

Countdown 5 days!

Are you ready?  We will be reviewing all kinds of GHSGT terms & their definitions.  Again, please ask me if you have questions during the lesson.  I hope you are taking advantage of the after-school tutoring & the Saturday tutoring.  Saturday, March 19th is the last day for extra practice.

Please bring your Shiver books to every class.  If we don't read a chapter as the warm-up, we usually read one as the summarizer.  Take notes on your vocabulary handout or take notes in the book.  Make sure you are answering the checkpoint questions for every chapter once you are done reading the chapter. 

Countdown to GHSGT!

We will continue to prepare for the test daily.  It is your job to be present.  You should be going to tutoring after school & go to the 2 Saturday sessions!

Revise Exercise 3 & we will continue to work on terms this week.  Please refer to the glossary of terms when in class & when doing homework. 

Quiz each other on the terms, make flash cards or draw pictures to help you remember!
