Since we have been using the media center, dictionaries & thesauri to help our writing, I thought that should be the focus of our lessons this week.

Monday 4/18 - Lesson 8 - Reference & Resource Materials

Tuesday 4/19 - the media center ( we are behind the other class due to Changing of the Chairs) this is the last day to peer edit & type your final draft

Wednesday 4/20 - Review B pgs. 78 - 79 & Lesson 18 Compare Media

Thursday - 4/21 same as Monday as well as Lesson 1 on roots, prefixes, & suffixes

Friday - 4/22 - DOE website & power-point presentation on GHSGT prompts & sample student responses

Beginning Our Novela!

We are about to begin reading a drama (play) titled "Anna in the Tropics" by Nilo Cruz.  This play won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2003 which means it's an awesome play!

I hope all of you will enjoy reading (acting) as your chosen characters.

We will also be learning about the types of drama - Lesson 12, dramatic conventions - Lesson 13, & character & theme in a drama - lesson 14, in order to help us better understand what makes a drama different from other forms of literature.

EOCT Countdown!

EOCTs for American Lit. are scheduled for Monday, May 9th & Tuesday, May 10th.  Remember the EOCT is divided into 2 parts (2 days).  Please do not be absent or schedule appointments for those days.
