My Name Poem is Due!

Remember that your poem is due to me this week!  All poems should be given to a peer for editing (fixing the mistakes & suggestions for better writing) BEFORE you turn it in to me for a grade.  Poems will be hung on the class bulletin board for all eyes to see so make it WONDERFUL!

We will continue to read "Body Rituals Among the Nacerima" & once we finish we will look for comparisons to our culture(s).

Don't forget you need to bring to class every day the following materials:  pencils, eraser (large rectangular one), pens, a composition notebook (one that is NOT spiral), a 3 ring binder & notebook paper.

80 Words

You should be completing your multicultural poems which have a maximum 80 words.  These poems can be bilingual, but must be peer edited before printing. Let's save some trees!

These poems will be hung on the class bulletin board for all eyes to see. So make it special!

We will continue all week reading multicultural poems on various themes.

Attendance is vital for your success!

Learning About Our Past

Remember to find information - that is, to research the Native peoples/tribes from your area of your native country. 

Don't forget to find out the 4 different kinds of corn!

We'll continue to read Native American legends & we will do a Venn Diagram on "The Coyote & the Bear" & "Turkey Makes Corn & Coyote Plants It"
