Tuesday - Present photos & read responses to photos as if you were the photojournalist who took the photo. Read the nonfiction story "Familiar Strangers" & use active reading strategies while reading aloud.  Finish for HW

Thursday - Go over new vocabulary for story "Roots: Random Thoughts on Random Hair" & begin reading the story check out the website:  www.hapa.com for information on organizations that show interest

Monday & Tuesday - EOCT Coach Lesson 4 on theme & main idea

Wednesday & Thursday - Begin reading "The Devil & Tom Walker" HW - Literary Analysis on Characterization - Direct & Indirect pg. 11

Friday - Turn in HW & finish reading "The Devil & Tom Walker" - selection test A

Week of November 14th

11/14 - Discuss the elements of a memoir - new vocabulary for story - Begin reading "A Choice of Weapons"

11/16 - Discuss the forms of prejudice Parks has encountered - finish reading memoir - vocabulary quiz if there's time

11/18 - Write down examples in which you've experienced prejudice while living in Georgia - complete the vocabulary & comprehension quiz on the memoir

Week of November 14th

11/14 - We will be finishing up our Facebook performance task in the computer lab.

11/15 - 11/16 - We will be talking about trades we've made & we will begin to read "The Devil & Tom Walker"  HW pg. 11 - Direct & Indirect Characterization & Turn in Facebook projects

11/17 - 11/18 - Finish reading story & turn in HW on Direct & Indirect Characterization

Week of November 7th

Monday - Period 1 Begin reading the story "I Want to Be Miss America"  Period 3 - complete the graphic organizer on stereotypes & complete the comprehension quiz

Thursday - College Day in the career center
