April 25-29th

Comprehensive Art- Students are finishing their radial design. They are looking beautiful. Students are comparing and contrasting Romanesque and Gothic architecture. They will have a quiz next Monday for white day classes and next Tuesday for blue day classes.  Thursday and Friday of this week we will be beginning an assignment called An Apple a Day. Download Apple Students should create 9 apples in different artistic styles and using different materials. Through this assigment they can express which styles and materials they prefer.

Photography- Students are currently working in Photoshop on "The Monster Inside Me" where they will turn themselves into a monster. Download Monster Inside Me. Thursday studnets will present their Scavenger hunt assignment. I will also give them directions for their Photo a Day for May assignment which will begin May 1st and end May 18th. Students will be given these assignments each day I see them.

Ceramics- Studnets are beginning a "redo" project. Each student can redo a project from the year that perhaps did not come out how they desired or that they enjoyed and want to try again. I should see growth and improvement. Because it is something they have done before, it will count 200 points instead of 100 so it better be good!!!

April 18-22

Comprehensive Art- This week we are finishing our Georgia O'Keefe inspired watercolor of flowers. Students are focusing on zooming in (cropping) and showing value. We have started looking at Romanesque architecture and will later compare it to Gothic architecture.Download Romanesque Art Download Gothic Art STudents will then create a radial design to look like a stained glass window.

Photo- Students are cotinuing to work on their Wee People Photoshop assignment. Wednesday, students should bring in their prints to begin to put together their presentation projects which are due on Friday. Students should also be currently shooting their scavenger hunt shoot outside of class. Download Scavenger Hunt Shoot

Ceramics-Last week was slower than I thought so we are behind. We will be creating slump plates this week and add a stencil design to them. Each student will make 2 matching plates.
