May 9th-13th

Need to make up some work, finish a project, have questions about the final exam? Ms. Lyle will be here after school on Thursday the 13th until 4:30 and Tuesday the 17th until 5:30.

Comprehensive art-Students are still working to finish their apple a day project. White day classes will complete these and turn them in on Tuesday and Blue day will complete them on Wednesday. Students are also working in collaborative groups to research Renaissance artists. White day classes will present these artists on Thursday and Blue day classes will present on Friday. Students will also be beginning their final project, Famous Inspiration, where they focus on creating a theme and using unity. Download Famous Inspiration Project

Photography-Students are currently working on "literal-isms" on Photoshop as well as a Photo-a-day shoot (daily) and the re shoot assignment. The re shoot is due for presentation next Monday, the 16th. The last day for Photo-a-Day is the 18th. The final will be the 20th. Review sheets will be handed out in class on Thursday. Ceramics- 1st period is done with clay. 3rd periods last day will be on Wednesday. We have to allow time for the final projects to dry out, bisque fire, glaze, and then glaze fire. Students will be glazing, critiquing, cleaning, and reviewing for the final exam. 1st periods final exam will be Monday, May 23rd and 3rd period's exam will be Wednesday, May 25th.

May 2-6

Comprehensive Art- This week students are being quized on Romanesque and Gothic architecture. They should be able to contrast architectural features such as arches, buttresses, towers, and windows.  Students will contiue to express their preferred materials and artisitic methods by creating 9 different apples in their "Apple A Day" project. At the end of the week students will be put into groups to research Renaissance artist and create presentations on them. The artist include the very famous da Vinci, Michealangelo, Raphael, Donatello, and the less know Masaccio and Piero della Francesca.

Phototgraphy- Sunday students began their A Photo a Day for May shoot. Download A Photo a Day for May. In class, students should complete their Monster Inside Me Photoshop assignment and begin their Literalism assignment.  Download Monster Inside Me Download Literalisms. Students should also begin their "Reshoot" assignment. Students can choose one shoot from first semester to do over. The grade will count as their final shoot grade. If they perform better on redo than the original than the new grade will also replace the original, lower grade.

Ceramics- Students are continuing their redo projet in which they rebuild a project from earlier in the year. This should be challenging but demonstrate how the student has grown as an ceramic artist. The last day with wet clay for ALL seniors will be next Monday. Monday will also be the last day fro 1st period. 3rd period's last day with wet clay will be Wedneday of next week.
