I hope eveyone had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break. We have only 19 days until the end of the semester so it is important to be coming to class and turning in all your assignments to get those grades up before miterm.
Comp Art- This week, my student teacher, Ms. Williams, is working with students on an illuminated letter. In the medieval times people were living as nomads and therefore had to carry all their belongings with them. They could not make large artworks. Kings would order scribes to write out manuscripts and make them look beautiful. We are using a wax resist process to create our very own illuminated letters. Photography-This week we are beginning to look at portraiture. Download Portraiture 4 informal, 3 formal, and 3 self portrait shots will be due on Friday the 16th for critique. Don't forget your cameras Wednesday. On Wednesday we will set up a portrait studio in class and we will also compile our "a is for...". Students will present their "a is for..." shoot this Friday, December 2 for critique.
Ceramics-This week students will begin their luminaries. They can either make 3 small, 2 medium, or 1 large luminary with cutouts. We will work on these through next Monday.
