Comprehensive art- Students will be finishing their color project. Students selected one of two color theory projects last week. Download Color Mixing Project Download Color Scheme Project2 The are looking great so far! Students will also be introduced to an art form that was popular in ancient Rome and the Byzantine Empire, Mosaics. Download Mosaics My 4 classes will then have a competition to create a paper mosaic.Students will focus on replicating colors and values.

Photography- Students are presenting their food shoot for critique on Friday. Students will also begin the Photoshop assignment, "You are what you eat" in class. Outside of class, students are to choose one prop that they will use throughout an entire shoot. Download Props It will be due February 15th for critique.

Ceramics- 1st period is finishing up their bas relief tiles and will then glaze or cold decortate their masks. 3rd period is finishing their Greek inspired mask and then will glaze or cold decorate their bas relief tiles.

January 16-20

Comprehensive art- This week students are creating their own color wheel by mixing the primary colors to create secondary and tertiary colors. Students will also add white and black to their colors to create tints and shades. We will also begin to look at Roman art and architecture. The Romans excelled in architecture such as coliseums, aqueducts, and arches. Download Roman art and culture to view the full power point.

Photography- Students should currently working to create a shoot focused on hands. These should be hands at work, at play, hands holding each other or something else. This shoot will be due this Friday, the 20th for critique. We will also be working on a hybrid assignment in Photoshop.

Ceramics- 1st period is currently working on Greek inspired mask.2nd period is working on bas relief tiles. We will also critique luminaries on Friday.

January 9th-13th

Ceramics- Students will begin creating a Greek inspired mask. Students will create a masks that portrays an emotion. These will be due On Friday the 20th.

Comprehensive Art-This week we will be focusing on the element of art, color. We will take a thourough look at color theory. Download Color Students will mix the primary colors to create a full color wheel with tints and shades.

Photography- Wednesday students will compile their pairs of people shoot to be presented for critique on Friday. Students will also begin their hybrid Photoshop assignment to be turned in by the 18th. Students will also be introduced to their next shoot, food, to be compiled on February 1st and presented on February 3rd.
