May 23rd - 25th

Last 3 days of school!  We will be taking final exams for the rest of the week.  Your final grades will be available, the day after your final exam.

I have posted an electronic copy of the final review on the blog:  it is located on the summative assessment review page.  If you can't find it, send me an email or I can show you how to find it in class.

Unfortunately, I could not find an electronic copy of the review packet that was distributed in class.  I am attaching a copy of the answers for you to reference as you study.  If you have misplaced your packet, I will have additional copies after 1st period (May 6th).

April 25th - 29th

This is our final week of new material before the EOCT review!

Standard:  Solve simple rational equations that result in linear equations or quadratic equations with a leading coefficient of 1.

25th & 26th:  We will simplifing rational expressions and work on solving rationals equations.  This topic should be somewhat familiar because we worked on in last semester.

27th & 28th:  We will review for the last summative assessment before the EOCT.  It will cover:  factoring, transformations, solving radical equations, and solving rational equations.

29th:  Summative Assessment (Don't forget your index cards)!

This thursday (4/28) will be the last day that you can re-test.  The following Thursday tutoring times will divided as follows:

5/5:  Review for the EOCT, 5/12 (last day of the EOCT:  review for the final), 5/19:  review for the final.

Please do not wait until the last minute to discuss your grades.  This is the perfect time to discuss any questions that you might have.

April 18th - 22nd

We will begin our EOCT review this week!  We have 3 more weeks until the EOCT (May 9th - 12th).  I will still be available after school on Thursday for additional help.

Standard(s) for the week: 

MM1A3d. Solve simple rational equations that result in linear equations or quadratic equations with leading coefficient of 1.
MM1A3a. Solve quadratic equations in the form , where a = 1, by using factorization and finding square roots where applicable.

QUIZ (21st & 22nd):  Factoring

Credit repair letters will go out this week.  If a student has a 65-69 average at the end of the semester, this option is available to them.  Please look over the details of the letter and feel free to contact me if you have any questions:  nakia.salam@cobbk12.org (phone extension:  643).

April 11th - 15th

I hope you enjoyed your SPRING BREAK!  Only 33 more days left until you get to enjoy a nice summer vacation.

Progress reports will go out this week during homeroom.  Take a few minutes to look over pinnacle and let me know if you have any questions.  We only have one more 6 weeks grading period!

The upcoming unit will look like a review of material that we covered at the beginning of the year (with a few additions).  We will look at parent functions again, but this time we will move the graphs:  vertical shifts, stretches, and shrinks.  We will look at radical and rational functions again also.

Standards: 

MM1A1.c. Graph transformations of basic functions including vertical shifts, stretches, and shrinks, as well as reflections across the x- and y-axes. 
MM1A1.h. Determine graphically and algebraically whether a function has symmetry and whether it is even, odd, or neither.

As we bring this semester to an end, don't forget about the re-test option as well as the formative assessment correction options.  I will be available for tutoring on Thursday (3:30 - 4:30).  If you have formative assessments from the 5th six week grading period.  You will need to turn those into me ASAP.  I will not accept them after Tuesday.

We have approximately 4 weeks remaining before the EOCT.  There will be small EOCT review sessions available in 2 weeks.  I will see you individually about this opportunity.

 You are not expected to complete the in class or homework problems ( I have already given those to you).
