Testing and Tutoring

Reminder  the GHSGT (graduation test) is arriving the last week of March. 

Tutoring is available (with transportation within district) on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Also, if you do not yet have a scientific calculator YOU NEED ONE!!  You cannot use a graphing calculator or a cell phone on the graduation test (NOR on the EOCT!!).  You need to have your own calculator so that you can become comfortable with its functions and capabilities before the tests.

I will gladly make a recommendation if you don't know what to buy. 

Math 3 Core Support 2/3/11

On Tuesday, we tested over the geometry unit.

If you have not taken that test, please see me as soon as possible to make this up.  The  topics covered were:  arc length, area of sectors, spheres (surface area, volume and change of area and volume), and right triangle trig (including special right triangles). 

 

Today (2/3) we began (unit 5)  on data analysis and statistics.  We reviewed mean, median, mode and how to find the quartiles AND standard deviation.  You have a homework sheet where you should practice these skills.

Math 1 Support Week of 1/31/11

In Math 1 Support we are working in class on a review of linear equations.

Monday and Tuesday--Worksheets 3-1 and 3-2 on solving equations by addition and subtraction

Wednesday and Thursday--Worksheets 3-3 and 3-4  on Solving equations by multiplication and division and backsolving (word problems!)

Friday and Monday (2/7)--We will complete the packet with worksheets 3-7 and 4-1  Solving equations with multisteps

In your math 1 classes you are working on characteristics of special quadrilaterals and congruent triangles.  In both of these standards you must be able to solve equations to find the missing sides and angles.  We are practicing to improve your skills!
