VC/Piano

We discussed the piano portion of the exam.  It will include:  melodic and harmonic intervals, C position, C chord, G7 chord and ties.  Students practiced Merrily We Roll Along and should be ready to be tested during our next session.

Chamber Choir/Piano

Students practiced individual y received individual instruction.  Students were reminded that they will be graded on their performance and/or progress on the piano piece, which was assigned in September.  For instance, if you were given a piece with four staves and you can perform two accurately, you will receive half credit.  There are 100pts possible.  Students should complete their pieces and be prepared to play by Monday, 5th period.

Mixed Rep/Theory

I introduced aug 4ths and dim 5ths.  The students completed interval examples on staff paper.  We will begin ear training on this interval during our next session.

VC - Group D

Reviewed "When The Saints Go Marching In" and practiced for 30 min.  The students were given individual and group instruction.  There will be a performance test on it next Thurs.

Mixed Rep - Theory

We are reviewing major and minor 7ths and doing lots of ear training.  The students played an interval game using the individual white boards which incorporated all the intervals learned so far.  There were two teams.

Wed 12/2

VC - Groups A, B and C

Classes reviewed the C chord and learned G7.  They were taught "Merrily We Roll Along" and should practice and be able to play it for next week's session.

Chamber 

Piano - Students practiced their recital pieces and recieved individual instruction.

Mixed Rep

Theory - The class reviewed Major and minor 7ths and played the interval game using the individual white boards.
