9th grade lit:

Welcome back from your week break students.  This week on Monday and Tuesday we have a presentation from a 9th grade consular about your GPA's.  The rest of the week we will be giving an introduction to the nonfiction unit.  Also we will go over the reserach paper project that you will have for this unit.  Hope to see you in class.

9th lit and 9th ESOL lit:

This Monday and Tuesday we will be taking Checkpoints.  We will also be finishing up the poetry unit and at the end of the week we will introduce the Non-Fiction unit.  So that you have an idea where we are headed after the break.  Remember next week the 11/22-11/26 is Thanksgiving break.  Please be careful and hope to see you after the break.  Have a great week!

9th lit + 9th ESOL lit:

This week we will finish up "Casey at the Bat." We also will be doing a graphic organizer over the poetry unit to complete in class and you will have daily writing everyday. There will be no homework unless we run out of time during class and homework is needed.

Also these are the scores from last week's Post Assessment Test:

140 students took the test

6 students scored proficient or higher on test (PASSED) 

134 students scored below proficient on the test (did not Passed)

The Class Average went from 2.9 on the pre-test to a 3.9 on the post test so it went up a whole point. Great job and keep up the hard work.

9th Grade:  We will be finishing the "Raven" worksheets and reading "Casey at the bat." Aslo don't forget your "I Can" assginment. We will be taking the Post Assessment Test this Thursday and Friday.
