We worked on:

* Using Kagan Strategies to discuss our THanksgiving Break

* EOCT Practice- Figurative Language

* Mr. Tinsley came in to discuss how to be successful in high school, improve grades and graduate

* Students wrote reflections on the presentation

Remember that Narrative Poem Projects are due on Wednesday and Thursday.

 

November 19th- 9th Literature

Today we worked on:

* Responding to a journal with a Pre-writing and 2 Paragraphs: If money were not a consideration, where would you go for the Thanksgiving Holidays? Why? Who would you take with you? What activities would you be interested in doing at this place?

* EOCT Practice

* Independent Reading

* Working on Narrative Poem Projects

November 19th- Multicultural Literature

* Discussing Next Steps in terms of college applications, SAT, etc.

* Viewing, Responding to, and Discussing "Hype and Cirsumstance DVD"

 

November 18th- American Literature

Today we worked on:

* Completing the notes on Transcendentalism

* EOCR Practice

* Reading, summarizing, and responding to an article

* Taking the quiz on Shiver

* Reading and discussing the novel

Please read Chapters 8 to 30 over the Thanksgiving Break. Be prepared for a test on them upon your return.

* Going to the Media Center to learn how to use it as a resource,set up accounts and check out books
