We reviewed the diagram of the nervous system to ensure it was done correctly.  This was a ticket in for 1st period from last week and a ticket out for 2nd and 3rd periods.

We reviewed the Venn Diagram on the Nervous Systems and also the Grahpic Organizer on the Endocrine System.

3rd period had a quiz as a ticket out.

MODULE 7 TEST WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND.

Reviewed types of governments- received a graphic organizer for this.

Went to the bookroom. Any student that wanted to check out a book did so.  It is NOT required.

Completed/worked on the foldable for the types of government.  Anyone that didn't finish must do so for homework.

Chapter 1 quiz will be on Tuesday, February 1.

Students turned in their study guides for Chapter 7.

Students took the chapter 7 test/summative assessment.

3rd period- after lunch meditated to lower blood pressure and relieve stress.

1st and 2nd period began by playing telephone to simulate the neural impulse and chain.

We reviewed the fill in the blank answers from Tuesday.

We used an interactive CD-Rom to review the neurons.

We took notes on the Nervous System. Download Module 7 notes

We completed a Venn Diagram on the Nervous System and the ticket out was labeling the neurons.

Warm up today- Did you watch the State of the Union Address and what are your thoughts about how the country is doing.

Lecture on Types of Government  Download Forms of Government (MP)

We did a Kagan Strategy called Inside/Outside circles as a summary of the types of government where students had to tell the other students what they remembered.

We started a foldable on types of governments that we will finish on Friday.

We went over the reading quiz for chapter 7 and discussed why answers were correct and incorrect.

In order to further study the effects of psychoactive drugs we did the Mouse Party.  This information can be found at:

We went over as many questions on the review game together as possible.

We began a new standard today.  SSPBF1- Biological foundations.

As an introduction, all students took 2 different Hemisphere Dominance Inventories to see if they are more right brained (creative) or left brained (logical and precise.)

We took a T/F for Module 7 as an anticipation guide for what we are about to study.

Students completed a guided reading/fill in the blank activity about the Neurons and neural impulse.

GOVERNMENT HOMEWORK FOR 1/26-STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS

DON'T FORGET TO WATCH THE STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS AT 9:00 TONIGHT, JANUARY 25TH. 

You should write a summary about what President Obama said or focused on and your thoughts about how the country is doing.

Download 7.Sleep1st period did not get their reading quizzes back, but they can come pick them up if they want to use them to study.  Same for the vocabulary.

3rd period got their quizzes back to use to study.

Today- reviewed 2 PowerPoints, lecture/discussion on consciousness.

I did not collect the study guides so that students may use them to study.  They are due on Wednesday.
