Any student that was absent on February 17 will need to make an appointment to take the Unit 1 Part A test.

Today we reviewed the Principles of the Constitution and the parts/articles of the Constitution.

The ticket out was to write what amendment you thought was most important and which one you might think is not.

We reviewed the PowerPoints from Chapter 9 on Encoding, Storage, Retrieval and Failure/forgetting.

Chapter 9 vocabulary and study guides were turned in.

There will be a Chapter 9 assessment on Wednesday.

Each class had 1 group that presented their Module 8 final assessment.

After the presentations any student that wanted to participate in the eye patch activity that would produce "night vision" did so.  They wore the patch for about 15-20 minutes. While they wore the patch we looked at Roschach Inkblots to discuss differnt perceptions.  After we discussed them we went into the workroom where it was dark and removed the patches.  At this point the eye that was covered was able to adapt and see in the dark.

After this activity we took the pre-test for the 5th 6 weeks. 

3rd period viewed various illusions on the computer.

Reviewed memory games and demonstrated some more.

PowerPoint lecture on introduction to memory.

Everyone received a Chapter 9 study guide which will be due on February 28th with the vocabulary.

Warm up today: inside/outside circles- we had partners and named parts of the brain and then repeated them to our partners and then named what was missing.

Worked on Performance task for Module 8- brain assessment.

We took the 6 week post assessment.

We worked on reviewing for the Unit 1 Part A test which will be on Thurday, February 17th.

Took the 6 week post test.

Introduction to Memory- Chapter 9.  We played various memory games and performed various memory tasks in order to model types of memory or processess.

Everyone received a wordsplash to have a visual representation of the words.

We completed the T/F for the chapter as an anticipation guide and also completed a Forgetting Frequency Questionairre.

Vocabulary for the chapter will be due on Monday, February 28.  The study guides will be distributed on Thursday, February 17 and will also be due on the 28th.

Started class with the Stop Drop and Assess 4th 6 week post-test.  This will count as a quiz grade.

Students then began the performance task that will count as the Module 8 Final Brain Assessment.  See attachment for options. This will count as a test grade and will be due by the end of the class period on Wednesday, February 16th.

I collected warm ups for the 6 weeks and we attended the Black History Month Program.

We will take the 6 weeks post-test on Tuesday, February 15th.  We will then review Unit 1 up to this point and take the Unit 1 Part A test on Thursday, February 17th.
