Stuents will learn demonstrate the ability to search for information on the Internet using search engines as well as evaluate search results. Preceeding, students will learn how to perform basic searches using search techniques including logic and set operators to refine the search.

Web Design
Students will refine Cougar Website and add DHTML effects to Drive Website. Students will learn of meta tags and insert tags using keywords into the Drive Website. 



 

Oct 24-28

CMW 
Students will learn the purpose of the Internet and World Wide Web and how computers, people and Web pages are identified on the Internet.

Students will demonstrate how to access Web page and searches for Web pages containing specific information on various subject matters.

Students will be able to identify other types of online communications and discuss when and how each are used.

Students will research and discuss societal implications of the Internet, such as security, privacy, and online communications issues. 

Web Design
Add features to the Drive Website using HTML coding such as inline frames, video of process of giving and donating. Add the Red Cross website to open within the inline frame. Students will complete Drive Website.

Drive Website:  Students volunteered to help the Madison Community Center create a web site for its yearly blood drive. 

Oct. 17-21

CMW
Students will learn the IPOS Cycle (Input, input devices, processing, output and output devices and storage)

Students will find something familiar to them and explain the IPOS Cycle, create a visual and submit for a project grade.

Submit group next generation project if not already done so. 

Web Design
Complete Drive Website

Students volunteered to help the Madison Community Center create a web site for its yearly blood drive. In this 3 part project, students will add formatting such as a background color, a table, animated gif, a navigation bar and other elements to the web site.

CMW - History and Emerging Technologies

What you think will mark the next generation of computers?
What are common elements of the Windows graphical user interface (GUI)?

Students are in groups and are to answer 3 questions: What will these computers look like? What will they be able to do that a computer cannot do today? What suggestions can you offer manufacturers to make computers more user friendly?

1)Draw a picture of your computer design
2)List the functions your computer will be able to perform
3)List the suggestions you have for manufacturers that will enable them to make computers more user friendly

Create a 3D model of your computer for extra credit points.

Learn form handlers, FORM tag, Form elements, Input fields, Menus, Text Areas, & Form layout

CMW - History and Emerging Technologies

Introduction to Computers: History and development of the INternet and explain its effects on computing and society.

Complete Chapter Exercises
Using PowerPoint software, use effects, hyperlinks, transitions to create a review quiz game
Include: key terms, true/false, completion, Input/output/storage, types of computers

Create a graphic organizer of the 5 types of computers and how they are used. Use MicroSoft Word (text boxes, arrows, shapes/objects, WordArt, pics, and etc.) Give examples of each type of computer.
